Let’s talk recycling….  The State of Delaware now mandates all commercial accounts and haulers to implement recycling into their monthly trash pick-ups.  During the week of July 18th you will have a separate container for recycling delivered to your property.  This container is for recyclables only and will have the recycling emblem on it.  The recycling program will accept the following:  newspapers, brown paper bags, magazines/ catalogs, telephone/ soft cover books, junk mail/ envelopes, paper, paperboard (like cereal and tissue boxes), cardboard, plastic bottles, grocery bags, glass bottles (any color), and metal cans (tin/steel/aluminum).  The recycling containers will be emptied every other Tuesday (a separate day than normal trash collection of Fridays) by Chesapeake Waste out of Salisbury, MD.  There will be a separate line item charge of $4.00 monthly added to your water bills to reflect the fee being billed by the carrier.  The first recycling collection will be on Tuesday, August 2nd.  Remember to rinse all containers and keep the recycling free from contaminants (regular trash items) as this will result in the recycling being refused.  Please call Town Hall with any questions and/ or concerns you may have @732-9424.   If you ever experience any problems with your trash service or provider please contact the Town Hall immediately when it occurs.
